College Students
Internships
Internships are available for Construction Management, Construction Science and Construction Engineering students. Internships afford advanced college students with the opportunity to undergo supervised, practical training, not to mention the chance to take GE Johnson "out for a test drive." Our Internship Program can be a summer hiatus from school, or it can be extended over a Fall or Winter semester as part of a Co-op program. Most of our internships are for the following positions:
- Field Engineer
- Project Engineer
- Preconstruction Analyst
Full-Time Positions
Listed below are the entry level positions we recruit for on College Campuses.
- Project Engineers: They are responsible for assisting the Project Manager to accomplish all project management duties as assigned. This will include processing shop drawings and submittals, logging and tracking all project documentation; e.g. shop drawings, RFI's, ASI's, proposal requests, and change orders. You will assist in the preparation of CPM schedules. Prepare and process all close-out material; e.g. as-built drawings, warranties, lien releases, operation and maintenance manuals and punch list control.
- Field Engineers: They are responsible for providing vertical and horizontal construction control lines for building erection and construction site surveying. They must accurately locate buildings from property lines, set monuments for building layout, understand and interpret all dimensional control on the building project. They provide line and grade in a manner that will allow crews to easily and accurately place their work. They should understand and interpret all aspects of earthwork and sitework. Field Engineers develop project quality control documents such as lift drawings for concrete work and pre-drywall/ceiling closure packets. Must be able to understand and operate Total Station, GPS and AutoCAD.
- Building Systems Technicians: They shall support the production efforts of the Systems Integration Group, during pre-planning and construction. They develop 3D models to facilitate system coordination, 4D model schedule utilization and generate site logistics plans in electronic format. They develop 3D models to facilitate system coordination; document technology utilization for lessons learned and utilizes advanced software technologies to enhance the construction delivery process. Must have a complete understanding of AutoCAD.
- Preconstruction Analyst: They are responsible for doing quantitative surveys, obtaining material quotations from vendors and performing initial pricing of materials. Preconstruction Analysts use On-Screen Takeoff software to input data. They coordinate the scope of work with suppliers and subcontractors, conduct phone solicitations of suppliers and subcontractors and accumulate and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
