Daniel J. Starr, Vice President
Dan's first assignment when he joined GE Johnson in 1981, was in the role of Project Engineer on the Gulf Mineral Resource Headquarters building in Denver, Colorado. For two years, he worked in the estimating department, launching the broad base of experience he has acquired over nearly 30 years in the construction industry. He has served in the role of Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager, in addition to establishing the Special Projects Division. In the late 1980's, Dan managed the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek, Colorado and the Doral Telluride in Telluride, Colorado. These two projects served as the beginning of his specialization in mountain construction. In 1997, Dan was promoted to Operations Manager and two years later, became Vice President of Operations. With growth comes opportunity; Dan expanded the Jackson, Wyoming office in 2008. In 2011 Dan was brought back to Colorado to take over all of the operations of the organization.
Dan and his wife, Patty, have two adult children and enjoy many outdoor adventures. Hiking expeditions have taken them to Canada, France, Italy, Peru, and Switzerland, as well as throughout the Western United States. During the summer, they enjoy hiking, biking, and kayaking; during the winter, snowshoeing, Nordic and downhill skiing keep them active. Dan also takes pleasure in honing his welding skills.
