Electronic Document and Control Management (EDM) is an electronic, integration platform where real-time project information, BIM coordination workshops and field as-built conditions are collected, shared and coordinated by all project stakeholders.
Project team members from across the globe are able to access this information in real time, through a secure web-based project portal. This implementation has increased field productivity, enhanced team collaboration and communication, and improved document turnover by all team members. Our on-site EDM portals utilize large flat screen monitors and a document server for access to design, schedule and coordination information by the field staff and construction crews. This system allows approved users to access design information for a specific room, in addition to all product submittals, information requests, change notices and as-built conditions in an organized and clear format. EDM implementation on GE Johnson projects has been so successful, local building authorities are using this system to convey approved areas of inspection via color-coded legends.
